At Zeus Packaging, we believe sustainability is about more than reducing environmental impact.

In partnership with Le Chéile Africa, the Zeus Zero Graze Training Farm in Kenya has grown into a long-term community initiative combining agricultural training, food production, local employment and sustainable development.
What began with a simple idea continues to evolve, with one goal at its heart: helping families build stronger, more independent futures.

OUR STORY
Where it all began.
The Zeus Zero Graze Farm was established to demonstrate the principles and benefits of zero grazing. Food and water are brought directly to the animals, allowing families to manage cattle effectively on relatively small areas of land.
The method protects local land and waterways and reduces the risk of disease within herds. It can also increase milk production, providing nutrition and the potential to generate additional income.
The training farm gives local people the opportunity to see improved farming methods in practice, develop new skills and take that knowledge back to their own farms and communities.

Through ongoing training and support, more families are adopting improved farming methods, helping to build greater food security, stronger livelihoods and long-term independence.

A harvest that gives back.
Our maize harvest has more than doubled compared with last year, while beans are being planted for future harvests.
Much of the produce grown supports local feeding programmes. Successful harvests help move the project closer to its long-term goal of becoming increasingly self-sustainable.
Nothing needs to go to waste. Once the maize has been harvested and dried, the remaining stalks can be used as cattle fodder, feeding directly back into the farming programme.
During busy planting and harvesting periods, the farms also provide employment for more than 50 local people each day, generating valuable income for local families.

The model works.
Now we need to scale it.
Our ambition is to expand the agricultural programme, reaching and supporting more families throughout the community.
Investing in practical farm machinery, including a walk-behind tractor, essential farming attachments and water pumps, would allow the team to work more efficiently, expand training and support many smallholder farmers.
Family by family, the goal is to scale what we know works and extend its impact across the community.

The Zeus
Avocado Orchard.
Every tree planted today is an investment in tomorrow.
In partnership with Zeus, the avocado orchard is being established with a target for its first commercial harvest in 2030.
As the trees mature, the aim is for the orchard to provide a sustainable source of income that can help support the farm, its community programmes and future development for many years to come.
It represents an important part of the project’s journey from immediate support towards greater long-term self-sustainability.

Lasting change
starts with people.
The Zeus Zero Graze Farm has grown considerably since the first training unit was established, but its purpose remains the same: to give people the skills, knowledge and opportunities to create lasting change for themselves.
There’s still much more to achieve, and progress isn’t always straightforward. From challenging weather conditions to the realities we see during home visits, there are constant reminders of why this work matters.
